A new purchase (ouch)

Been looking out for a replacement for my Nissan Latio whose COE is expiring on Jul'15.  When I first got my bike, i am determined get out of the situation of paying for the ridiculous COE tax that makes owning a car in Singapore a joke with the SGD100++ price tag for an ordinary Sedan car.

 It's quite a beauty, isn't it?

Pull factor:
1. It's below my limit of SGD100K (just 3K below) -> price had dropped 10K from 2 months ago when i first saw it, dropped 2K since my second visit last week
2. My little one is arriving and it will be easier for us to have some quality family time
3. My Latio is showing its age and it making enough "grumpy" sound for me to worry that it will not be able to last till Jul'15.

Push factor:
1. It's still 100 grand. And annual depreciation of SGD9K is not a small amount
2. The unknown after the 5 years warranty. I had enough heartbreaks with my 9 year old car already.

So you guessed it right. I succumbed to the dark side.
-> Committed to the purchase of a KIA K3 yesterday.

Threw the challenges to the stakeholders by asking them to "give me the motivation to commit to this"
a) Wife: She sponsors a token sum (check)
b) Salesperson: Pleasant service and all requested freebies given. (GPS+DVD player+reverse camera, leather seats, sports rim, $1K servicing credit, floor mat, solar firm, front camera (check)

Ordered a "Temptation Red" at the sugestion of the wife and it sound like a very good choice since i liked how the display unit looked :)

After a much needed nap, I woke up regretting my choice of colour.. Well.. red is nice but is not "my type". Took me a day to decide to give the agent a call for the change.

Went down to the showroom to see the colors for myself. Was drawn by what they call the "Golden Beat" with it's dark metallic brown colour on display. Picked the "Metal Stream" at the end as It's more MY color. So  not adventurous, right? Well, that's me :D

Expected delivery date is August-September. May as well. Need the time to squeeze my savings and to tighten my belt. haa

I had this conversation with the wife just now: Me buying a car does not mean that I am not going to ride. That's a promise! :)
